Very much a Depression-friendly baking recipe. Measurements don't even have to be totally exact, honestly. These are the cookies you make when you want cookies immediately.
Ingredients
- 1 generous cup of peanut butter
- 1 cup of regular sugar
- 1 egg
- (Optional:) A dash of vanilla extract, if you happen to be living large
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350°F.
- In a bowl, mix all ingredients (with a spoon, spatula, or whatever) until it becomes a uniform-enough dough.
- Roll dough between hands into smallish spheres. Make them however big you like your cookies.
- Place on greased or parchment-papered baking sheet, and flatten each ball with a fork into that nice little crisscross pattern.
- Bake for 11–15 minutes or until they're golden brown.
↣ (Heads up: They'll still be extremely soft when they first come out; let them cool for a few minutes so they can be picked up without falling apart.) - Eat the goddamn cookies like the feral animal you are.
